AWA Team Pink for Breast Health 2017

Signup no longer available. Please contact the coordinator directly.

Breast cancer is the most common cancer in women worldwide. In 2017, it is estimated that among U.S. women there will be 231,840 new cases of invasive breast cancer. In Hong Kong, it continues to be the number cancer affecting women with 9 new cases diagnosed every day - one of which will result in fatality.

This year, the AWA are mounting our own team to join in the walk to support those who have gone through the battle, those who are currently enduring it and to educate those who, we hope, may never have to.

If you're interested to join in the walk sign up here; proceeds will be donated to Hong Kong Breast Cancer Foundation.

If you're interested in learning more we've included links to organizations which provide services and information.

This is a powerful and inspiring opportunity to unite as a community to honor breast cancer survivors, to raise awareness about steps we can take to reduce the risk of getting breast cancer, and help a local organization in their fight against breast cancer.

Please note: The walk will take place on level surface and is suitable for all ages and levels of fitness.

At the time HKBCF was established in 2005, one in 22 women was diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime; now, ten years on, one in 17 women will be diagnosed. With HKBCF and other cancer organizations in Hong Kong, that number will hopefully continue to reduce. Education and early detection are the key to breast health.
