AWA World Tours will be offering our first focused hiking trip to the Huangshan Mountains,  China this fall. Also commonly known as the “yellow mountains” this range of sharp peaks and scenic beauty were named a Unesco Heritage Site in 1992. They have a rich ancient history dating back to the Qin Dynasty and are known for their spectacular rocky peaks, odd-shaped pines, sea of clouds, hot springs, winter snow and stone steps carved into the side of the mountains. This guided trip will include hiking for 2 days on some of the 50km of known footpaths in the range to explore the visual beauty of the region that is praised as the loveliest mountains in China and have inspired poets and Chinese ink artists for centuries.

This trip will also include visits to the Tunxi Old Street in Huangshan that is considered the most well preserved ancient street in China, and the Hongcun Village, a Unesco Heritage site that was the film set for “Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon.” You will enjoy a breathtaking ride up to Mount Huangshan on the Yungu cable car and spend a lovely evening at the top of the mountain at the 5 star Xihai Hotel providing the chance to see the most life altering sunrise above the sea of clouds in the morning if weather permits.

Hiking and exploring on the mountain will be split among 2 different English speaking guides. The hiking groups will be dependent on the fitness level of each traveler providing for a moderate group and a more advanced group each day. Due to the physical nature of this trip, please be advised that it is best experienced with some level of physical and mental fitness for all travelers.

Join us for this visual feast of a trip that will leave you in awe as we explore the Huangshan Mountains this fall!  Don’t miss out!
