Explore Hidden Gems of Peng Chau/Wine Tasting and Lunch
Well here is your chance with the added bonus of learning about some natural and organic wines.
Our Hostesses Diasann and Myriam will guide us on a short walk around the island, pointing out all the hidden gems. Afterwards we will go to their local wine store and learn a little about the wines we will be tasting at lunch. The tasting will include 3-4 different natural wines from France, Italy, Austria, Australia, Spain or New Zealand. They curate a seasonal selection, and try to create a nice mix of red, white, sparkling, orange and rosé. They only use wines that they care about and love, that are bio-dynamic and/or organic, with no or low sulfites, and grower-made. Then we will enjoy lunch at a local dai pai dong (female owned), with the wines of course. You will have a chance to go back to their store and purchase some wines at a 10 % discount We will be taking the 10:45 ferry there and the 2:30 or 3:15 on the way back. Feel free to stay and enjoy the island longer on your own. Transportation costs are not included in the cost of the event
Peng Chau island is less than one square kilometer in size, but it is bursting with Hong Kong history, culture and activity: it boasts eight temples, more than 12 lion dance troupes, 5 organic farms, and a century old fishing community of ""seui seung yan"" fisherfolk who provide the islanders with fresh seafood. The laid back vibe of the island has attracted a new group of residents: artists, musicians, writers and creative entrepreneurs who have found a home in this gentle, welcoming and diverse community.
