Taiwanese Mahjong for Experienced Players: Introductory Workshop
This fun and interactive one-session workshop is perfect for anyone who already knows how to play Mahjong and would like to level up by learning the Taiwanese style. Transitioning from the version you currently play to Taiwanese Mahjong is easy - and a whole lot of fun!
Our teacher, Sandra Collins-deLange, has played for many years and is excited to share the joy of this culturally rich and locally beloved game.
Taiwanese-style Mahjong is a game of skill, patience, and strategy—while also being highly social, full of laughter, and camaraderie.
With kind permission from the Ladies Recreation Club (LRC), we follow their House Rules for Taiwanese Mahjong. These clear, well-illustrated rules and scoring guides are widely adopted by Mahjong clubs across Hong Kong. As a participant, you’ll receive your own full-colour, 17-page copy to keep.
After completing the class, AWA members can attend exclusive practice sessions to continue refining their skills. These sessions, led by our teachers, provide a great opportunity to ask questions and deepen your understanding of the game.
