Quilt with Kat! (One Spot Remaining)
Does the idea of cutting up bits and pieces of fabric - then putting them back together again - excite you?
According to Google, quilting has been around since 3400 BCE - originating in Egypt, China, and North Africa. Used for both clothing and bedding.
Nowadays quilting as a hobby is a global mainstay. A time to relax into cutting, sewing, hand stitching. Creatively combining colours and patterns.
When observing a home made quilt, most people gasp and say to themselves - I could never do that! But you can. It’s easier than you think.
Kat looks at quilting through the eyes of “simple is best”. No fussy complicated patterns. This is a beginners quilting class, and we are working on small projects. Each participant can choose from the following:
- Quilted cushion cover (using simple geometric shapes - inspired by American quilt designer Laura Preston)
- Wall Hanging (using simple geometric shapes - inspired by American quilt designer Laura Preston)
- Small quilted throw - Patchwork Plus at its best
