Palace Museum Double Delight: docent-led tour of 'Treasures of the Mughal Court' and 'Wonders of Imperial Carpets,' followed by HH! (Rescheduled from 24 Sep)
THIS EVENT IS WAITLISTED
Note: we are watching the typhoon scheduled to hit around the time of this event and will advise further.
Immerse yourself for an afternoon escape into the vibrant hues and artistry of the fascinating Mughal, Ottoman, and Safavid dynasties! Our docent will lead us through the following two exhibitions which are rare to have in our city:
“Treasurers of the Mughal Court (1526-1857)” will exhibit over 100 spectacular items on loan from the Victoria & Albert Museum in London, ranging from paintings, jewelry, textiles, ceramics, and weaponry. The Mughal dynasty was descended from Genghis Khan.
“Wonders of Imperial Carpets: Masterpieces from the Museum of Islamic Art, Doha” has 100 more exquisite works from the 10th to 19th century from Safavid Iran, Ottoman Türkiye, and Mughal India, containing finely knotted carpets, ceramics, and metalwork.
You will need to purchase your own “Full Access” ticket which will get you into both of the exhibitions. There are many different prices based upon whether you are a museum member, concessions, etc. Here is the link: https://www.hkpm.org.hk/en/visit/ticket#full-access-ticket-all.
We will finish our afternoon at Sepoy Mess Indian Restaurant in Elements Mall for Happy Hour ($28-68) and dinner if you would like, at your own cost.
