'The Mills' and 'C.H.A.T.' (Centre for Heritage, Arts, and Textile) Private Tour with lunch at Fleur!
The Art Lovers group invites you to embark on an exciting journey into the rich history and transformation of “The Mills!”
Once the iconic spinning mills of Nan Fung Textiles in Tsuen Wan, The Mills was a powerhouse of Hong Kong’s booming textile industry in the 1950s. Today, it is one of HK’s cultural and creative landmarks. A vibrant hub of local art, innovation, and learning, it also features a diverse range of artisanal shops offering beautifully crafted goods.
C.H.A.T. (Centre for Heritage, Arts and Textile) is an art centre nestled within The Mills. We will continue our guided tour by taking a special look at CHAT’s current winter exhibition.
The tour will be coordinated by AWA member Alexandra Martin, a German textile artist based in Hong Kong. With a deep passion for fabrics, textiles, and art, Alexandra has visited The Mills/CHAT countless times since its opening, bringing her unique perspective and insight to this enriching experience.
(Our private tour will be conducted by one of the guides that works for The Mills.)
After the tour, you’ll have the chance to explore The Mills’ unique shops and will then enjoy an optional communal lunch at the charming restaurant *Fleur* (at your own expense).
