About this Opportunity

Saint Barnabas Society and Home (SBSH) is looking to help their community's children with their English language comprehension skills. They would like to invite volunteers to read to primary-aged students from under-privileged families. In addition to sharing a story, volunteers are welcome to hold conversations, play games, or sing songs with children. Volunteers are also welcome to bring their own (similar aged) children to the activity.

Expected children: around 10-15 students from mainland Chinese families

Level: Primary school-going (6–12 years old)

Number of Volunteers Needed: 1-2

Saint Barnabas Society and Home, based in Shek Tong Tsui, provides a wide range of services to support the poor and homeless. Those in need can receive food, shelter, and counseling assistance. Their beneficiaries include children, families and the elderly.
