Escape the city’s relentless energy and step into Tsz Shan Monastery, a breathtaking fusion of Tang Dynasty architecture, contemporary Buddhist art, and profound tranquility. Nestled amid the lush hills of Tai Po, this spiritual haven—founded by the renowned philanthropist Li Ka-shing —invites visitors to experience mindfulness, beauty, and stillness like nowhere else in Hong Kong.

During the visit we will marvel at the monastery’s majestic white Guanyin statue (76 meters tall), serene lotus ponds, and intricately carved wooden pavilions, all designed with reverence for classical Chinese aesthetics.

Surrounded by forested slopes and overlooking Tolo Harbour, the monastery harmonizes spirituality with the raw beauty of Hong Kong’s landscape.

Practical Tips

-Dress modestly (shoulders/knees covered; no shorts or sleeveless tops).

-Photography allowed in most places (but silence and respect are cherished).

Optional add-on: A visit to the nearby Tai Mei Tuk for lunch at either a Thai or an international restaurant with shared expenses.
