Join us any Tuesday morning to prepare and serve meals to men who are homeless or do not have enough income to buy enough food. Weekly we head to the Home of Love, run by the Sisters of Charity, to help give back, and show in a practical way how much we care.
Meet at the B1 exit of Hong Kong Station (NOT Central) at 8:30. The group will leave for Nam Cheong Station on the Orange Line at 8:40. If you'd rather meet in Nam Cheong directly, please do so at 8:50-55 at Exit D1, the bottom of the escalators.
We'll chop, chat & serve the homeless men, then depart at around 11:00, arriving back at HK Station by 11:30. The nuns have asked that "modest attire" be worn; and no photographs be taken of them or the clients to protect their privacy and in respect to their lifestyles.
The Difference We Make
AWA volunteers help the chef get meals out on time and serve long lines of hungry men. We do this by prepping large quantities of vegetables for the morning and/or afternoon meal. We also create and hand out boxed lunches and serve the homeless men who eat their lunch in the shelter's dining room. Our reach is between 25 to 100 beneficiaries weekly.
