Consistently voted the happiest country in the world, the little nation of Bhutan is set at the far eastern end of the Himalayas, between India and China. Bhutan only began to open its doors to outsiders in the 1970s and still has a strict sustainability policy regarding tourism. As a result, it has retained a deep cultural authenticity and has preserved its environment admirably, making it one of Asia’s most beguiling and unforgettable destinations. Highlights include incredible forts and temples perched on sheer mountain cliffs, a rich (predominantly Buddhist) culture, and spectacular scenery.

Please be aware that while not specifically billed as a hiking trip, Bhutan's natural beauty lends itself to an active itinerary. The combination of culture and adventure will require a moderate level of fitness. Please contact the trip coordinator to discuss if you have any concerns. Note the schedule includes an active pursuit most days - hiking, river rafting, archery. Cultural sites and experiences including festivals, fortresses, and monasteries may also involve somewhat significant amounts of walking.

PRICE & PAYMENT BREAKDOWN:
AWA Member (shared room): HK$40,000
Non-Member Fee: +HK$1,500 (supports AWA community programs)
Single Room Upgrade: Available for +HK$5,500
Deposit: $20,000 will be collected once minimum number of trip participants is reached (10) and no later than March 27, 2026
Final Payment: Full remaining balance will be collected June 15, 2026

Once we have met our minimum number of travelers, we will contact registrants personally to let them know that we are charging the deposit of $20,000 to secure their space. All travelers are taken on a First Come, First Served Basis.
