Many of us know about Triads through the film industry They are overlaid with myths and urban legends. Know often as Heaven and Earth Societies, we will explore their evolution from Ming loyalists to present day. Illustrated details will be given of their ritual and mythology in contemporary local life. This talk forms part of the three part series ( opium, and prostitution but is a stand alone). Come for any or all of the talks. You will not be disappointed. Time for Q and A at the end.

Jason is a local who has worked in Hong Kong teaching and writing about the history of Hong Kong for many years. If you have not heard one of his talks or gone on a walk you are in for a treat. Or if you have come back and learn more. We will be offering a series of 4 talks this summer is the air conditioned AWA office. Each week he will be covering a different topic. You can join all or come as you are available. Each is a stand alone and is always fascinating.
