In recognition of World Health Day, Sunday, April 7, AWA is proud to offer a variety of unique experiences throughout April in connection to each of the eight dimensions of the Wellness Wheel.
Intro To Bibliotherapy focuses on emotional and spiritual wellness with a learning session facilitated by AWA member Bhakti Mathur, Hong Kong's first bibliotherapist. Bhakti will share the history and science-backed benefits of bibliotherapy and what a typical session entails, plus her book recommendations on topics such as anxiety, aging, raising a family, transitioning to an empty nest, among others.
About Bhakti Mathur:
Bhakti Mathur is the author of the 'Amma Tell Me' and 'Amma Take Me' series of children’s books about Indian mythology and history, with 19 published titles to date. After a long stint as a banker, she now juggles her time between writing, practicing yoga, and being with her family. She holds a Master of Fine Arts in creative writing from the University of Hong Kong and is a freelance journalist with close to 100 published articles in the South China Morning Post on life, health and fitness.
Bhakti is an ICF credentialled executive coach and a bibliotherapist. When not writing or running after her boys, Bhakti is happiest curled up with a book in one hand and a hot cup of chai in the other.
