By the 1870's one in four Chinese women residents were prostitutes of some form. Brothels were licensed until the 1930. Here we will explore the legal and social postition of prostitutes in HK until the recent years. This talk is part of the interconnected series that make up two of our other topics ( triads and opium, but is a stand alone) Come for one or all. You will not be disappointed.
